We didn’t eat all day and boy oh boy was it worth the wait. The food was amazing. The service was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We had the Schwabenteller and it was like a German fairy tale… magical. We had three or four “small beers” after and that really just made for a smooth landing.
My first time in Germany and what a meal to start on. Recommended to me on a business trip by my husband it didn’t disappoint! It was warm, so beautiful to sit out enjoy the schwabenteller, excellent if you want a bit of everything Swabian and a beer! Excellent place 😍
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Carl’s Brauhaus in Stuttgart. The food was truly delectable, with a fantastic selection of local and traditional dishes that were beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The drinks menu is just as impressive... extensive, well-curated, and featuring some excellent local beer options that pair perfectly with the food. What really elevated the experience, though, was the service. Our server was exceptional: warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. He spoke excellent English and offered spot-on recommendations that made ordering effortless and enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and exactly what you hope for when visiting a local brewery... great food, great drinks, and outstanding hospitality. We can’t wait to return.
Carls Brauhaus is a modern restaurant from 2014 with a historic beer & germanntraditionsl food identity, placed in a post-war rebuilt historic commercial building, on Stuttgart’s most symbolic square. It is not old in itself, but it stands exactly where Stuttgart’s brewing, royal, commercial and modern city life meet. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the atmosphere combines an old brauhaus feeling with a fresh, modern design. I visited at the end of April, when asparagus season had started, and tried the special asparagus menu served with spaetzle. The asparagus tasted good, and the beer selection was excellent. It is a little pricey, but overall a recommended place for local food, beer and a lively city-centre atmosphere.
This is my go to spot in Stuttgart! The best servers in town, full of humor and happy to listen to your needs. The beers are delicious, and the food is incredible! I recommend almost everything on the menu. The creative drinks as well as the beer are exactly what you're expecting at a top tier establishment, even if their prices are low to mid range. Give it a try! Nothing better in the city center!
We really enjoyed the food, and the location could not be better. We sat outside and had a great view of the main plaza, which made the experience even better. It was pretty busy on Saturday and there was a line, but it moved fairly quickly. They do a good job turning tables and keeping things moving without making you feel rushed. We do not speak German, but communication was not an issue at all. The server spoke English and was very helpful. Overall, great service and a really nice experience.
Really large establishment in the city center, plenty of space and beer and good food and good service. It has traditional Swabian options as well as other common German food. I really enjoyed the chicken breast covered in cheese and egg according to my translated menu. This place has everything for a day out; it’s not fancy and it feels comfortable
Delicious traditional German food, specifically from the region of Stuttgart. The staff was ok, they understood English, and were very fast. The beer was amazing and the atmosphere was a classic pub, almost restaurant like. Definetely recommend.
The schnitzel was perfectly crispy, spätzle very creamy and the sides complemented everything really well. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome. We were group of 8 people and we were thinking that the food will be late but bring the food very fast and to everyone at the same time. The cozy atmosphere added to the overall experience.
